Maintaining maximum production capacity is an important goal at Sunpine’s plant. Wibax therefore routinely cleans the plant’s heat exchangers using products tailor made for the purpose. Everything happens in a closed system, where all the cleaning chemicals are returned into the production process, a sustainable way to clean.
Sunpine is a world-leading bio refinery, delivering innovative and sustainable products based on a waste product of kraft pulp production, tall oil. Fundamentally, tall oil is a product of Swedish forestry, a sustainable industry in itself. Sustainability is a common, green thread, connecting all of Sunpine’s operations, which means that a sustainable cleaning process, also contributing to the maintenance of full production capacity, is important.
“We are very happy that Wibax has developed a custom cleaning product that efficiently removes unwanted deposits from our heat exchangers. In addition to the fact that it helps us maintain production capacity, we have also observed a positive impact on the longevity of our heat exchangers, as mechanical interventions are kept to a minimum. Wibax’ ability to assist us on site at short notice is of course an additional benefit, and overall we are very pleased with our collaboration”, explains Andreas Bäckström, Production Technician at Sunpine.
Wibax’ cleaning method – a tailor made total solution!
Deposits as thin as a few millimetres degrade the transfer efficiency of heat exchangers. The facility then uses more energy to drive its pumps, and also as a result of decreased energy transfer between the mediums inside the exchanger. Wibax’ cleaning methods keep the systems clean and efficient. Wibax offers a complete, tailor made solution, with the option to combine cleaning and maintenance works.
“We work with large systems in the processing industry, as well as smaller systems using plate or tube heat exchangers, where we also provide mechanical cleaning solutions and management of the chemicals used”, explains Fredrik Nordström, CEO Wibax Industrial.
