Having adapted its Piteå production plant and obtained an extended permit, Wibax is now able to produce in the region of 150,000 tons of existing products, such as liquid magnesium and aluminium sulphate, each year.
In conjunction with the new environmental permit entering into force, further renovations will take place to Wibex’s Piteå production plant to adapt the work environment and safety measures, as well as to ensure that we have the have the lowest possible environmental impact.
The permit will facilitate an increase in the production of magnesium sulphate solution, which when ready-mixed can be used in the pretreatment of pulp in bleaching processes for the paper industry. The product is easily biodegradable and is not considered to be harmful to the environment. By dosing the ready-to-use solution instead of powder, the customer is able to reduce their chemical handling and avoid the dust produced by dry products.
